CAMP COLLIDE 2012

Discover Church held it's first annual CAMP COLLIDE @ Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center in Lake Placid, Florida from June 8th - 10th. The success of this camp was absolutely astounding as we anticipated and many of the attendees are already looking forward to next year!!!

Some of the highlights included a bonfire on the first night (complete with smores of course); the ever popular Slip 'n Slide; the beach bible studies led by Isabel Griffin & Shay Haugen; four amazing services led by Lead Pastor, Chip Stallings; & Worship Pastor, Bryan Ingram; Glow-In-The-Dark Fußball; and yes folks...even the camp food!!!

As always, community played a key role during CAMP COLLIDE, as families & friends were broken down into teams or, as we like to call them, "Connect Groups". These Connect Groups met collectively to discuss daily devotionals, participate in team building exercises, & most importantly...build lasting relationships.

Over 60 people signed up for the inaugural weekend of CAMP COLLIDE, which exceeded our initial expectations. This can definitely be attributed to the strong leadership & devotion to community that Discover Church has only started to build within the Palm Beach County area.

For more information on Discover Church & CAMP COLLIDE, please feel free to visit our website at: http://www.discoverchurchpbc.com/Discover_Church/Home.html

Any of the staff members will be more than willing to meet & speak with you about any questions you may have. Our goal is to: "Change the world by helping others find life through Jesus Christ". Our services are held every Sunday at 11:00am in The Weiss School located on Burns road in Palm Beach Gardens. DISCOVER MOBILITY

"Thank you Discover Church and the children of your Summer Bible Camp K-5 for their inspiration to undertake this mission.
We as a team, Discover Mobility, are undertaking the goal of raising $10,000 to help our brothers and sisters who are disabled in undeveloped nations. Every time $63.94 is given, one of God's children struggling with poverty and disability can be lifted from despair into a brand new wheelchair".
God's Blessings,
Jim & Ann

We are so honored to have Jim & Ann as a part of the Discover Church family! The money they are raising is used to support an organization called Free Wheelchair Mission. For more information, please visit the link to the right or talk to Jim & Ann on Sunday mornings before or after our 11am service!!!

Changing The World via Mission Visions

Discover Church has entered 2012 with a new focus...TO CHANGE THE WORLD! Of course, at Discover Church, we have been doing just that for some time now by helping people find life through Jesus Christ. As we go from a church that was PLANTING to one that is PLANTED, those two things will always stay consistent, but how we do them will constantly change. They have to change because the world itself is changing & with it so we must.

My name is Eric White and I am the Director of Community Engagement for Discover Church. For those of you who already know me, I pray that you have seen change in my life & that it has inspired you to grow as well. For the many that I have yet to meet, I look forward to hearing your story & becoming a part of it.

MISSION + VISION = CHANGE
One of the ways that we @ Discover Church wish to promote change & growth this year is through something called MISSION VISIONS. Mission Visions occur when your passions meet your proximity & you use those passions to positively effect the community around you. Our Lead Pastor, Chip Stallings, embraced this concept after a visit to last year's EXPONENTIAL CONFERENCE & has really challenged us, his staff, to do the same.

My first goal as the Director of Community Engagement for Discover Church is to build a team whose primary focus will be on helping others establish their Mission Vision & then guiding them towards making it a reality. I personally feel that we truly can CHANGE THE WORLD one Mission Vision at a time!

If you have any questions about Mission Visions or how you can become involved in helping others realize theirs, please don't hesitate to pull me aside before or after our Sunday morning service. You can also reach me via email at: eric@discoverchurchpbc.com

Meet our Greeting Team

Discover Church is made up of many different people and many different stories. Here is a story of a woman who has been with Discover from the beginning. Wigg is a volunteer with our Greeting Team and also our Prayer Team Leader. When you visit Discover make sure to say hi to Wigg when you see her!

Wigg and her son, Sam
“Because I was out of town, I missed the inaugural worship service (of Discover Church) at the Hilton, but I began attending at the second meeting of Discover Church. What drew me to Discover Church was the opportunity to experience and serve in a new work - "from the ground up." I also wanted to be part of the "family" atmosphere of a small church.

The first night I came, I particularly enjoyed the music and worship. Music has always been for me personally such a vital part of my life and worship experience, and I have since loved that part of Discover Church.

I have enjoyed visiting each of the Connect Groups and seeing the uniqueness of each group. Most recently I enjoyed "jamming" with some of the worship band! I have also loved the opportunity to be a part of the Prayer Team at Discover Church.

Because I currently have no family locally, I consider DC the closest thing to "family" in my life. I will be thankful to be a part of Discover Church as long as God has me there!”

Goals of this blog:

The goal of this blog is to act as an interactive tool between guest of Discover Church and the Guest Relations Team. It is our desire that everyone who steps into our church would feel welcomed, comfortable, accepted and at-ease. It doesn't matter if you have been here 20 times, 1 time, or still seeing if you even want to come - we want you to feel anticipated even before you walk through the doors.

At this blog, you will be able to see new things we are implementing to make our guest feel more comfortable, ask questions, send ideas/opinions and find out everything that is going on at Discover! If something isn’t here that you were looking for, let us know and we will make sure to include it!

At Discover, one or our core values is Community. We feel that this blog will enhance the sense of Community even for someone just checking things out.

Thank you for stopping by and we hope you will use this resource as much as possible!

See you soon!
